Tauron is the largest electricity distributor and the second largest electricity provider in Poland. The impact of this project was huge for Leaware, because we grew in an area that delivers good value to the users.

Challenge

This market niche was a difficult challenge for Leaware, but that did not stop the company from succeding. Tauron’s main need was to create a mobile app that would attractively display information on energy consumption taken from the user’s smart meter. The application was made for iOS, Android, and Windows. The second challenge was to create an advanced API for downloading data from a warehouse serving 100,000 users.

Although the development of this digital product was a real challenge, with Leaware’s software development methods we managed to deliver the application:

• Shows how much energy is used during the day.
• Enables analysis of energy consumption for end customers.
• Instant access to current meter readings.
• Savings plans can be set by setting goals. Users are sent
notifications via email and text message.
• Shows energy use for a given day.
• Shows energy usage in an animated format.

Benefits

Thanks to the use of Xamarin technology, it is possible to manage to achieve code sharing of 80%, which significantly accelerates the development of the solution.
