Meet the Client
BNP Paribas Fortis is an international bank based in Belgium. It is the largest bank in the country and a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, offering a complete range of financial services to various clients including private and corporate clients, wealthy individuals, and public and financial institutions. The bank wanted to extend its services to mobile platforms to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Historical Background
& Current Situation
Before the launch of the BNP Easy Banking App, BNP Paribas Fortis’s customers had to rely on traditional banking methods, which were time-consuming and less convenient. The bank needed a solution that would provide an engaging, secure, and easy–to-use mobile banking experience.
Challenge
The major challenge was to build a comprehensive and secure mobile banking system that could support all main banking functionalities. The app had to be robust, user-friendly, and equipped with advanced features such as a demo mode for non-authenticated users, account overview, advanced search, credit card management, social media integration, and more.
Solution
Leaware leveraged its expertise in developing high-end mobile apps to create the BNP Easy Banking App. Using Win10 and MVVMcross technologies, we built an app compatible with iOS and Android platforms. The app offers users access to their bank accounts anytime, anywhere, with functionalities like account overviews, immediate transfers, direct debits, invoice management via Zoomit, and more. It also includes secure login mechanisms and a multi-profile creator for added convenience.

The Easy Banking App brought banking right into the pockets of BNP Paribas Fortis customers, offering them a seamless and secure banking experience. It provided easy access to banking products, enabled efficient transaction management, and offered the comfort of banking from anywhere, anytime.
Results
Since its launch, the Easy Banking App has been downloaded over 1 million times, demonstrating its popularity and acceptance among BNP Paribas Fortis’s customers. It has successfully simplified the banking process for users while ensuring high security standards.
Data and Evidence
In addition to the over 1 million downloads, the Easy Banking App has seen an average usage increase of 35% year-on-year, and customer reviews have been generally positive, highlighting the app’s ease of use and convenience.
Lessons Learnt
From this project, we learnt that understanding the customer’s unique needs is crucial in developing a successful app. Ensuring security while maintaining user-friendliness is also paramount, especially in a sensitive industry like banking. This project has reinforced our belief in the power of technology to make lives easier and more convenient, and we look forward to leveraging these insights in our future projects.
