AXA Broker App: secure banking in your pocket
Business context
AXA Bank Belgium, serving around 3 million customers and employing nearly 6,000 people, faced the need to modernise its digital channels. As early as the end of 2012, the bank recognised that customers expected simple, always-available access to financial services via mobile.
The business goal was to provide customers with a convenient, secure and reliable mobile solution that would reduce pressure on branches and improve service quality. At the same time, the bank wanted to strengthen process efficiency and ensure consistent experiences across all touchpoints.
To achieve this, it needed a technology partner capable of delivering an application in a short timeframe that met the high standards of the financial sector, while also providing professional support and further development after launch.
Challenge
The challenge was to design a comprehensive mobile application covering the full scope of everyday and investment banking: real-time balance and transaction history viewing, European transfers, Zoomit payments, Visa card application and management, access to loan information, and investment features.
The key was to combine the highest level of security with intuitive usability and performance. The application had to operate reliably, provide up-to-date data without delays, and remain easy to use for a broad group of users.
An additional requirement was simultaneous availability on iOS and Android, fast time-to-market, and continuous expert support after launch, including maintenance and further product development.
Solution
Leaware built AXA Broker App using Xamarin technology, enabling efficient development for both iOS and Android while maintaining a consistent, native user experience. This choice accelerated delivery, simplified maintenance, and ensured high quality across both platforms.
The application provides key banking features: current balance overview, transaction history review, European transfers, Zoomit payment handling, Visa card application and management processes, loan insights, and investment modules. The entire solution was designed with simplicity and speed in mind for completing typical financial tasks.
After deployment, professional support and product development were provided. The team focused on maintaining a high level of security and stability, while iteratively improving the user experience based on feedback and application usage data.
