BeautyBox: The beauty market in your pocket
Business context
In 2020, the team decided to enter a new segment and demonstrate its capabilities in building mature, user-friendly mobile applications. The goal was to create a solution that clearly connects demand and supply in the beauty services market while increasing engagement through educational content.
BeautyBox was created as a mobile platform connecting clients with beauty service providers in a selected location. In addition to searching for and comparing offers, the application provides daily DIY tips and make-up tutorials, supporting users in skincare and make-up selection.
The initiative formed part of a portfolio diversification strategy and an entry into a new market niche in Poland, while also proving the ability to deliver a complete product — from concept to stable deployment and scaling.
Challenge
The key challenge was to design a solution that would enable long-term product development in collaboration with an experienced team meeting the client’s competency requirements. It was necessary to balance rapid iteration with high quality and predictable delivery.
The architecture needed to support easy future functional expansion without disrupting existing modules. The product had to support stable growth in the number of users and service providers, while enabling smooth implementation of changes.
An additional aspect was combining two experiences in a single application: an efficient beauty services marketplace and engaging educational content (tutorials, tips), while maintaining ease of use and consistency across user journeys.
Solution
The result was the BeautyBox mobile application, which connects clients with beauty service providers and enables users to search for nearby offers, compare specialists and prices, and conveniently book appointments. The interface was designed to reduce the time needed to find the right service and increase booking conversion.
An integral part of the product includes daily DIY tips and make-up tutorials, as well as content on trends, skincare, and selecting make-up to suit face shape. This layered value model increases engagement, usage frequency, and user retention.
The solution was planned with continuous expansion in mind: a clear roadmap, iterative deployments, and mechanisms that facilitate feature extension alongside the growing base of clients and service providers. As a result, the product can be developed without downtime and adapted to changing market needs.
