Business context

A client from the European Union, operating in the Utility sector, set out to improve operations through the use of technology. The key area requiring improvement was time tracking, which had previously been handled manually and carried a high risk of errors.

Manual processes caused delays, inaccuracies in payroll calculations, and the need for frequent corrections. The organisation needed a solution that would provide reliable data in near real time and standardise the way working hours were recorded across the company.

To achieve these goals, the client was looking for a partner with experience in building cross-platform applications. The Leaware team proposed MobileTAS – a modern mobile tool built on ASP.NET that uses employees’ widely available devices.


Challenge

The main challenge was to transform a fragmented, error-prone process into a consistent, accurate and scalable time tracking system. The solution had to operate reliably on iOS, Android and Windows to ensure broad accessibility and rapid deployment.

The highest possible accuracy of hour records was required, along with the elimination of errors resulting from manual data entry and a simpler experience for end users. At the same time, data consistency and completeness had to be ensured without disrupting ongoing operational and payroll processes.

It was also necessary to provide easy application distribution and maintenance across a diverse device environment, as well as to integrate the data flow with existing payroll and workforce performance assessment procedures.


Solution

Leaware built MobileTAS – a time tracking application based on ASP.NET that turns iOS, Android and Windows devices into reliable terminals for recording clock-ins and clock-outs. The solution automates key process steps and organises data at the source, reducing the number of errors and mistakes.

The application ensures precise recording of hours worked and centralises the information required for settlements. As a result, operations and HR teams gain quick access to data, which accelerates decision-making and reduces the administrative workload.
