Business context

The client manages the European Express Transport Network, a network of independent courier companies operating across Europe. The dispersed nature of partners, different time zones and varying working standards made it difficult to establish contact quickly and coordinate assignments efficiently between couriers and freight forwarders.

To simplify collaboration and speed up information exchange, the concept of Xexpress was created – a central communication platform for both parties. The project, delivered since 2016 for an organisation from the UK, was intended to provide a scalable, reliable and multi-device communication channel that would eliminate delays and ambiguity in day-to-day operations.


Challenge

The biggest challenge was to design a solution capable of handling large volumes of data and operational parameters while ensuring clarity and high performance. The platform had to enable instant information exchange so that operational decisions could be made in real time.

Key requirements included real-time chat, an integrated email notification system, full interface responsiveness, and trust and security mechanisms. Administrative account verification was essential to protect network participants and maintain a high level of user credibility.


Solution

The Leaware team built the platform based on ASP.NET MVC, using ASP.NET SignalR to support real-time communication. Xexpress was designed as a CMS-type project with a built-in user database, where each account is subject to administrator verification, strengthening security and order within the system.

The solution provides fast chat between couriers and freight forwarders, complemented by email notifications about new messages and status changes. The interface is responsive, which means the platform works equally smoothly on desktop computers and mobile devices. As a result, Xexpress effectively removed the communication barrier between the parties and improved transaction coordination, as confirmed by positive user feedback.
