Hempel is a global supplier of paint and frequently participates in trade fairs worldwide. Being an experienced exhibitor, Hempel realized the challenge of engaging potential customers at their trade fair stands and sought a digital solution to this problem.

Challenge

Our challenge was to create a virtual application that was not only fun and engaging, but also showcased Hempel as a modern and innovative company. The application needed to utilize facial recognition technology to determine customer interest and emotions, essentially gauging the customer’s reaction to the company’s portfolio.

Solution

Capitalizing on our expertise in AI-based app development, we created Hempel Smile. This unique application, based on AI algorithms, detects and analyzes faces of potential customers, providing estimates of their age, sex, and emotions. The friendly and modern interface served as a unique attraction for trade fair visitors.

Benefits of the App

The Hempel Smile app provided numerous advantages:

· Attracted and engaged potential customers through face detection and analysis.

· Provided valuable data on the customers’ age, gender, and emotional reactions for analysis.

· Labeled and provided an ID for each detected face, offering further details on the number of times a face was detected, the age bracket, and the likelihood of the user experiencing a particular emotion.

Results

The Hempel Smile app was a success at the trade fairs, attracting over 2,000 people to the Hempel stand. It successfully recorded the facial expressions of the intrigued passersby, providing valuable data on their age, emotions, and gender for potential use in future projects.

Data and Evidence

The effectiveness of the Hempel Smile app is evidenced by the number of people it attracted to the Hempel stand, and the vast amount of valuable data it was able to collect. Over 2,000 visitors were attracted to the stand and their emotional responses were recorded, providing insights into the general audience response to Hempel’s offerings.

Lessons Learnt

Through the development of the Hempel Smile app, we gained valuable insights into integrating AI and facial recognition technology in app development.
