The concept of Monkey Run – Banana Chase was conceived as a fun yet technically challenging project. Leaware identified a trend towards multiplayer games that can be played on multiple devices with interactive interfaces. Monkey Run – Banana Chase is a response to this trend and an example of Leaware’s innovative approach to gaming applications.

Challenge

The primary challenge was developing an application that could seamlessly synchronize game data between mobile devices and a web server, allowing real-time play on a larger screen. This required the integration of modern technologies and a deep understanding of network communication protocols. 

Solution

Leaware developed Monkey Run – Banana Chase using Xamarin, a technology capable of building cross-platform applications. This allowed the game to be available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Apple Watch, and various Smartwatches. The game’s mechanics involve mobile devices communicating with a web server, which in turn projects the gameplay onto a larger screen.

While exact download figures are unknown, user feedback and online reviews suggest that Monkey Run – Banana Chase offers a unique and engaging gaming experience. The seamless synchronization between devices and the web server has been particularly appreciated by users, reflecting positively on Leaware’s technical capabilities. 

Data and Evidence

In a user experience survey conducted six months after the game’s launch, over 85% of respondents rated the multi-device synchronization feature as “Excellent“. The game’s innovative use of technology has also been recognized by industry peers, with Monkey Run – Banana Chase being shortlisted for several digital innovation awards.
