In the increasingly digitized world of today, tourism is one sector that has immensely benefited from the integration of technology. In an endeavor to revolutionize the tourism industry in Zeeland, a picturesque province in the Netherlands, the Province of Zeeland aimed to digitize its tourism offerings, giving rise to the need for a comprehensive mobile application – Zeeland-ontdek.
Challenge
The Province of Zeeland faced the challenge of promoting Zeeland to potential tourists, residents, and students in a comprehensive, user-friendly, and interactive manner. They needed a mobile application that could serve as a digital tour guide, providing users with photos, videos, and tourist info about the Zeeland region.
Solution
Leaware took up the challenge of developing the Zeeland-ontdek app using Xamarin technology for both IOS and Android platforms. The app provides an overview of Zeeland’s highlights, a travel guide, and a variety of multimedia content to immerse users in the Zeeland experience.

Lessons Learnt
From the development of the Zeeland-ontdek app, we learned the importance of simplicity and user-friendliness in designing a mobile app. We also understood the critical role of location-based services and offline capabilities in a tourism app. This project has helped Leaware further solidify its expertise in the development of mobile applications.
