Our primary objective was to demonstrate our capability to develop an innovative mobile application for the embedded computing technology industry.
Meet the Client
Kontron is a global leader in embedded computer technology, creating many of the standards that drive the world’s embedded computing platforms. With 30% of its employees involved in research and development, Kontron delivers sustainable and viable embedded solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators.

Identifying the need for an accessible and cost-effective alternative to expensive, indoor-only 3D motion labs, Runeasi aimed to leverage wearable technology and AI to provide personalized biomechanical insights to runners.
Challenge
Our challenge was to develop a mobile application that could effectively visualize and manage data from embedded devices produced by Kontron. The application needed to show device parameters, discover devices in a network, connect to other devices through a virtual network computing (VNC), and diagnose device problems.
Solution
Drawing on our expertise in mobile app development, we created the Kontron mobile app for iOS platforms. The app is designed to discover all devices in the local network, show important data about every discovered device, and provide controls for certain device functionalities. It also diagnoses problems with embedded devices, enhancing overall user control and device management.

Benefits of the App
Kontron mobile app offered significant advantages:
· Facilitated easy reading of data from embedded Kontron devices by connecting the user’s iPad to the network.
· Allowed users to control devices easily, with features like VNC and brightness adjustment.
· Enabled the detection of problems with embedded devices, like temperature, GPIOs, and fan issues, improving device maintenance and longevity.
Results
Since its launch in 2014, the Kontron mobile app has been downloaded by over 20,000 users and has maintained an impressive average user rating of 4.5, which is a testament to its success.

The effectiveness of the Kontron mobile app is evident from the number of downloads and the high user rating it has achieved. The fact that more than 20,000 users have downloaded the app, and it has a 4.5 average user rating, shows that the app has been well-received by the user community.
