Objective
This case study aims to demonstrate Leaware’s expertise in creating the Super Papugi app, an educational tool designed to diagnose and help correct hearing problems in children.
Meet the Client
Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (NCU), based in Poland, is a renowned educational institution named after the famed astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Ranked within the top 801-1000 band globally by Times Higher Education in 2017, NCU is committed to delivering quality education and contributing to various research and development initiatives.
Historical Background
& Current Situation
Super Papugi was developed to assist in the identification and amelioration of hearing issues among children. Using engaging game mechanisms, the app encourages children to differentiate between sounds, supporting their auditory development. Currently, the application continues to serve as a critical tool in early hearing intervention.
Challenge
The primary challenge was to create an interactive, child-friendly application that could accurately assist in diagnosing and improving children’s hearing capabilities.
Solution
Leveraging Windows 8.1 technology, Leaware developed the Super Papugi app for the Windows platform. The application creates an engaging environment where children can train their auditory capabilities by identifying the sounds repeated by parrots, initially spoken by a boy in the game.

Results
While the exact number of downloads is unknown, Super Papugi’s influence in aiding children with hearing issues is apparent. It has improved the learning process for children facing auditory challenges, contributing to early intervention strategies.
Data and Evidence
While precise quantitative data is currently unavailable, the qualitative story of Jakub indicates the potential efficacy of the Super Papugi app in helping children with hearing issues.
Lessons Learnt
The development of Super Papugi taught us the value of fun and engagement in educational applications, especially when aimed at children. The project also underscored the importance of accessibility and the need for applications to cater to a broader demographic. The project emphasized that with the right combination of fun and learning, technology could be leveraged to address significant issues such as hearing problems in children.
