With the rise of eco-tourism and active lifestyles, more and more people are seeking out destinations that facilitate outdoor activities such as cycling. Recognizing this trend, the Province of Zeeland aimed to create an app that made discovering their beautiful cycle routes easy and engaging.
Challenge
The client wanted to create a user-friendly mobile app that would allow locals and tourists to discover and navigate cycling routes throughout Zeeland. The app had to provide Points of Interest (POIs), display the nearest attractions, cafes, and bicycle repair points, and allow users to purchase or set up interesting bicycle routes.
Solution
Leaware developed the Zeeland-fietroutes app using Xamarin technology, making it accessible on both IOS and Android platforms. The app effectively enables users to explore, buy, and set up bicycle routes and offers real-time navigation around Zeeland’s scenic landscapes.

The Zeeland-fietroutes app has been a resounding success, with over 600 downloads since its launch. The app has facilitated both locals and tourists in discovering Zeeland on two wheels and has substantially contributed to the region’s eco-tourism industry.
