Background
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of a startup focuding on event ticket sales solutions.
Opportunity / Challenge
For what projects/services did your company hire Leaware, and what were your goals?
We neede to integrate our existing event ticket sales solutions to the event listing ecosystem of a major Finnish media company. Also our existing solution is developed by Leaware. The goal was to modify the solution and transfer from app-centric solution to browser-centric, as well as to answer the existing and future needs of the media company.
Solution
How did you select Leaware and what were the deciding factors?
Choosing Leaware was a natural choice, since the existing solution is developed by Leaware and the cooperations has went well.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We started by delivering Leaware specifications in written format and layouts. Leaware then came back with questions and work estimate. After that Leaware created BDD scenarios and asked us to verify them. The development has been organized mostly in 1 week sprints. The deliverable is a web-based solution including event listing and ticket buying for consumers, event management for event organizers, moderation portal for editors and app-basd ticket scanners.
How many people from the vendor’s team worked with you, and what were their positions?
CTO was involved at the start of the project. In the project we have had a project manager and 2-4 developers.
Results & Feedback
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Partly due to the fact there has been the other party – the media company – involved, the project has exceeded the schedule and budget. Also, both us and Leaware under-evaluated the project scope a little at the beginning. However, the results are of high quality, and the media company is also happy.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
The communication mostly works fine with fas response times. We use Slack as an everyday communication channel and Teams for face-2-face meetings. There have been some communication challenges among the development team due to the corona situation, which has created some communication blocks. Their overall spirit of solving all issues is good.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Fluent communication and value for money.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We would appreciate faster communication and transparency in situations when a delay is expected.
